Why Gloomsday

It is already shipping. It has been live on Steam since January 2024, relaunched as a full Early Access game in July 2026, and has a free playable demo you can open right now. Content updates have landed every two to four weeks since the relaunch. We ship, we listen, and we keep iterating on the core systems.

The hook is the gameplay mechanic. There is no mana bar. Spells draw from the ambient magic around you, depleting mana in your vicinity. Keep moving or your spells fizzle. Players feel this in the first thirty seconds, which is exactly what makes it demo well, stream well, and explain in one line.

The genre has a proven ceiling. Roguelite action-platformers with a strong mechanical identity have repeatedly outperformed their production budgets. Gloomsday is built by two people in Godot, with contract art and audio, which keeps the cost base low and the margin story simple.

Traction

Wishlist trajectory, unit sales, revenue, retention curves and regional splits are available on request under NDA — email contact@teamnabla.com and we’ll send the full data the same week.

Roadmap to Fall 2027

  1. Q4 2026
    Content update

Four new spells and a new enemy type, timed to the Steam autumn sale.

  2. H1 2027
    Two content updates

New regions and bosses through the content-complete push, on the same two-to-four-week patch cadence.

  3. Fall 2027
    Gloomsday 1.0

Four regions with at least two bosses each plus a final boss, the conclusion of the story, and a larger pool of spells, glyphs and pacts. Price rises at full release.

What We’re Looking For

Built & Shipping

  • A live Early Access game with a returning player base.
  • Windows, macOS and SteamOS + Linux builds, already certified for Steam.
  • Full controller support alongside keyboard and mouse.
  • A free demo that converts — the practice arena.
  • An original score written for the game.
  • A two-person team shipping content updates every two to four weeks since the July 2026 relaunch.

Where a Partner Helps

  • Funding the remaining content runway to 1.0.
  • Localization beyond English.
  • Marketing reach: paid UA, influencer, and storefront featuring.
  • Regional publishing, particularly Asia.
